Behind the Camera

I’m Summer, a South Carolina photographer, lifelong Conway local, and mom of two who knows just how fast time moves once kids enter the picture. One minute you’re rocking them to sleep, the next you’re wondering how their shoes don’t fit anymore. That sense of time moving quickly is a big part of why photography means so much to me.

I picked up my first camera as a way to hold onto moments I didn’t want to forget, and somewhere along the way it turned into a career I genuinely love. Since 2011, I’ve been photographing families, couples, and milestones with a focus on real connection, honest emotion, and images that still feel like you years down the road.

My approach is relaxed and thoughtful. I’ll offer guidance when it’s helpful, step back when it’s not, and keep things comfortable so sessions never feel stiff or forced. I care deeply about creating an experience that feels easy and natural, because that’s when the most meaningful images happen.

Outside of photography, I love creating and decorating, listening to audiobooks or music that lives somewhere between Noah Kahan, Taylor Swift, and early-2000s nostalgia, and enjoying quieter moments whenever they appear. I’m naturally reflective and curious about where we come from, which is probably why storytelling and family history matter so much to me.

My goal is simple. I want you to feel comfortable, seen, and genuinely excited about your photos. I want to be the photographer you come back to through the seasons, there for all the moments, big and small.
